I have had several years experience teaching deaf customers to drive.
Although I do not use BSL during driving lessons for deaf people, we will agree upon a series of signs at the start of your course of driving lessons ,so that clear instructions can be given.

We will spend some time stationary at the side of the road to enable you to lip read any instructions & advice you may need.
We will also use a lot of diagrams & handouts to help you with your driving lessons.

I understand how important it is to communicate clearly and have the patience to ensure that you fully understand the instructions given before continuing with the lesson.
